Project AAC Inc.
Our Story
Meet the Founder
Project AAC Inc. was founded by Abba Amos, a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist, after noticing a simple but powerful gap in her community. Having worked with children who use AAC to communicate, Abba saw firsthand how these children were often left out when it came to social play. While they often had access to communication tools at school or in therapy, the playground--the place where friendships are made and social skills are developed--was often a place where their voices couldn't be heard.
Why shouldn't children with AAC devices have the same chance to interact and play as any other child? Why shouldn't their communication needs be met in the places where they spend their free time?
With these questions, Abba decided it was time to change things. She founded Project AAC Inc. to provide communication boards to playgrounds, schools, and public spaces--places where children can play, learn, and grow together. The mission is to ensure that every child, no matter how they communicate, has the chance to be part of the communication and connect with their friends.
